Some recommend using revolver for self defence, loaded with 2 shot shells, 2 slugs, 2 shot shells, but loading opinions can differ:
I keep mine loaded with 2 .410 #6's and 3 .45lc 250gr GoldDot HP's. First two to the face, next three center mass.
Idea being that shot not only takes eyes out, but also covers face with blood, ruining sense of smell.
